Bed Bugs

Humans are the preferred host for bed bugs. They will latch onto skin that is exposed while the host is sleeping. The bite is painless at the time of attack, but most humans develop an allergic reaction to the saliva that it transmitted during the bite. This is what causes the bites to become red, itchy and swollen. Bites tend to be found in a pattern or small cluster, which makes it a little easier to tell a difference in bed bug bites and other pests. Bites can sometimes take up to 3 days to appear. 

Signs of bed bugs:

• Small reddish brown fecal spots on mattresses, upholstery or walls
• Seeing bed bug molt skins, their eggs, empty egg shells, or the bugs themselves
• Seeing adult bed begs in mattress seams and on boxsprings 
• Sites on arms and legs along with at least on of these other signs

In general, there needs to be an initial treatment and at least one additional to the first to fully get rid of the bed bugs. 

Bed bugs can spread to other rooms in your home, so don't delay on calling us. They can also be found in other furniture such as couches, chairs and dressers. Once a bed bug has detached from the host, it digests its meal, mates, and lays eggs in just a short 5-10 days. This is why an infestation happens so fast and also why it spreads so quickly.
